Product Questions
Does the shed require a foundation?
A foundation is not required but is highly recommended so you can anchor down the foundation frame to ensure maximum wind resistance.
What material should I use for the foundation?
The best options are a concrete pad or large concrete patio stones, though some customers use a wooden platform or place the shed directly on the ground. Whatever you choose, ensure it’s firm, level, and allows proper drainage.
For a concrete pad, start with a level bed of crushed stone, then pour concrete 4–5 inches thick to the shed’s specified dimensions. Let it cure for at least 48 hours before use. Please consult a professional if you need help as a level foundation is very important.
Does the shed require a permit?
Most structures above 10'x10' ft require a permit.. Please consult with your local government for the most accurate information regarding zoning and give our blog post a read.
Do I need HOA approval for my shed and can you help with that?
You will need to directly communicate with your HOA for approval, we can provide all documentation that your HOA may need.
Can I move the shed doors and windows to a different panel?
Yes the doors and windows can be moved to a different panel of the exact same size.
Do the vinyl sheds come with a floor?
6 out of 30 Duramax sheds currently come with a floor. 15 out of 30 other sheds come with a foundation kit where you can lay plywood on top for the floor. Plywood is not included with the shed. Please use the filters on our collection page or read the details of the product to determine.
What is the Duramax Foundation Kit?
The foundation kit is a galvanized steel foundation kit that raises shed height about 1.8 inches. The foundation keeps water pooling from damaging the shed and shed floor. Please see an example of the kit here!
Does the foundation kit increase the height of the sheds?
The foundation kit only increases the interior height in the shed by 1.8 inches and the thickness of your floor. The exterior height stays the same.
Can I paint my Duramax shed?
The manufacture does not recommend painting the shed as it would ruin the protective layer on the PVC. This would also void the warranty.
What are the wind ratings of the sheds?
Duramax sheds are wind tested up to 115 mph when properly anchored.
What is the snow load rating of Duramax Sheds?
Duramax sheds have a 20 lbs/square foot snow load rating.
Can I change the colors of my Duramax Shed?
No you can not change the colors of the vinyl as they are casted to a certain color.
Does the shed come with anchors?
No the sheds do not come with anchors, concrete/soil anchors can be purchased from your local hardware store.
Can I open the shed window?
No. The included shed windows by Duramax do not open.
Can I add windows to the Duramax sheds and buildings?
No you can not add windows to any Duramax products. All of the wall panels and foundation frame are engineered to spec.

The shed wall panels and holes are don't fit during the assembly process.
If your building on an uneven base, the holes are hard to line up. Level the base or use shims, pavers, concrete blocks, or treated wood to help align the holes correctly.
How long does assembly take?
Assembly takes between 3 to 12 hours depending on your skill level and the size of the shed. We always recommend 2 people as some panels can be large and can be easier to secure with 1 person holding the panel and the other tightening the bolts. Please consult the assembly manual and videos for additional instructions.
Do you offer assembly services?
Yes we currently offer assembly services through Assembly Help!
Can you deliver Duramax to Canada or Mexico?
No we can not delivery products to Canada or Mexico. If this changes in the future we will let you know.
Can you delivery to Hawaii or Alaska?
